Risk assessment:the identification,evaluation and estimation of the levels of risk involved in a situation.

some things that may have to follow a risk assessment

1. going on a school trip
2. hazards in classroom such falling over bags 
3. going on a holiday  

why are risk assessments taken out 

risk assessments identify risks 

risk assessments take place for example the fire bell going off at school as a false alarm to warn people  about where to go and to explain  to people what to do in that situation.

safe working practices : ensuring that the space used to work in is safe and doesn't have any hazards.
location reece : soing to the location to see if its whats suitable  for that film/show 

calendar

I have chosen the brief to do a school life i did this by using  my phone to take  images around different departments of the school i made my calendar on the website canva as i did not like the layouts outs on word and how the picture took along time to adjust. I used my email to get the images on to the computer so they would upload to my calendar. I cropped my  images to fit the layout of the calendar I found this website very useful and efficient and it was very easy to use i went through the process of picking out the pictures that i wanted to use then i chose the layout  witch i think is this the best for this brief as it allows me to put the image on the left hand side of the calendar i also made a mind map to help me in my planning process i had section for classrooms,departments and around school for example February's  image is  me holding the door i also have images of all the food donated to charity by our school.

I feel like i have mostly met the brief i was to improve anything about my calendar it would be to add some effects and a few found images but over all i think i have met the brief and used the images that are best to describe school as i have took picture from most blocks in school and each picture represents different.

I made my banner on Photoshop I have added in interactive fetchers for example I have put on everything that q-tees nails salon offers and when you hover over the images for example the nails it will come up with the price what style and shape the nails are for example acrylic or shellac I have also promoted that they do piercings as well and when you hover over the image of the piercing it will come up with what part has been pierced and the price of that specific piercing.

This is a very easy website to use to make a story board and it allows you to put in characters but on the other hard its not very appealing as it looks very simple and not very detailed.it is free and quick and easy to use.

what is a story board?

A sequence of drawings, typically with some directions and dialogue, representing the shots planned for a film or television production.

why are story boards used?

It helps people to plan there movie and shots in brief then when the movie is being filmed you know what shot and procession the character is in. its gives  a director a chance to plan the angle, shots and the movement of characters.Movement of camera or characters is shown on story boards by arrows.

My story board

I could have improved my story board by using arrows and a little bit more detail to show what different  angles that the camera pans at and I could have gone in to more detail about the movement of the characters.i could have also improved my drawing skills as i am not the best drawer.

what are scripts?

A script is the written text of a film or broadcast.scripts are us full for a lot of things such as drama performances films and broadcasts and it will allow characters or presenters to learn and fermilierize with there lines.

The windscreen wipers slapped on the screen in time to the upbeat music on the car stereo.  Mum switched it off in frustration as she sat at the traffic lights. 

“I don’t know why you had to take so long, I waited half an hour!” she said sharply.  Naomi sighed.  “They didn’t have my size on the shelf, and the woman took ages searching in the stock room.”  

“We wouldn’t have got stuck in all this traffic if you’d just made your mind up quicker.  We won’t be eating tea until late at this rate.  Today of all days!” Mum retorted.  She was tired and hungry and it had been a long day. 

“What’s wrong with the mobile phone I spent a fortune on?  You could have called me.  I wouldn’t have rushed away from work to get there if you’d called”.  Mum wasn’t giving up her bad mood any time soon. 

“I forgot to charge it, the battery’s dead,” Naomi answered.  “More like you wasted it playing stupid games!” Mum retorted.  “Sorry”, Naomi said quietly.  She looked through the window at the lights reflecting off the puddles.  The car accelerated away and sped out of town. 

It was turning stormy, and the wind whipped up the leaves, throwing them against the car as the rain drummed on the roof.  They turned into the driveway of the old vicarage and Mum pulled on the handbrake.  “Oh, that’s just brilliant!” she muttered sarcastically.  “No lights on.  It must be a power cut.  How am I going to cook with no electricity?”  She slammed the car door shut and hurried up the drive as the clock stuck six in the tower of the church next door. 

Mum fumbled with the door keys in the pitch blackness, then opened the front door.  Naomi splashed in behind her and they shut out the wind and rain, gasping for breath. 

“Maybe we can have a sandwich?” Naomi suggested. “I’ll make it if you like.”  “Ssh!” Mum said sharply.  “Did you hear that?”  “What?” answered Naomi. “Stop it, you’re freaking me out.  You know I’ve always thought this house is haunted.”  “I’m sure I heard something in the living room,” Mum whispered.  “Pass me that brolly, I’m going to have a look”. 

Slowly, Mum tiptoed to the door.  She turned the handle, and with a squeak, opened the door. 

“Surprise!” came the shout.  The lights snapped on and revealed Dad, Naomi’s brother Paul and a group of friends, squashed in to the room.  Party poppers were set off, and a huge laugh came from the room at Mum’s shocked response. 

“Happy Birthday, Mum!” Naomi said cheerfully. “Sorry about the trick, but I had to keep you out of the house ‘til everyone got here!”
